Additional data comes from USGS-operated stations and NRCS-operated snowpack (SNOTEL) stations.\n    <\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.5rem;\">\n    <h3>How often is the data gathered?<\/h3>\n    <p>\n      Most data is gathered hourly. Some data, like images from cameras, are updated as frequently as every 10 minutes.\n    <\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.5rem;\">\n    <h3>How does the data get from the water sources to my computer?<\/h3>\n    <p>\n      Each station records data using CR-10 dataloggers. Once an hour, data is transmitted to a central server via VHF radio, \n      900 MHz spread spectrum, the Internet, land-line, or cell phone. The web server retrieves the most recent data when a page is loaded.\n      USGS data uses satellite links; NRCS SNOTEL uses &#8220;meteorburst&#8221; radio transmission.\n    <\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.5rem;\">\n    <h3>Please explain the remotely controlled canal gates.<\/h3>\n    <p>\n      These gates can be programmed to maintain specific flow rates. The stations include VHF radios and telephone equipment for two-way communication. \n      Authorized users can remotely adjust gate parameters. Sensors confirm when the desired settings are met.\n    <\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.5rem;\">\n    <h3>What operating systems and programs does your webserver use?<\/h3>\n    <p>\n      The site runs on an Apache web server using Red Hat Linux. It stores data in a MySQL database and is primarily coded in PHP and HTML, \n      with some Perl scripts for additional functionality.\n    <\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <div style=\"margin-bottom: 1.5rem;\">\n    <h3>I can&#8217;t find the page I&#8217;m looking for but it was there yesterday.<\/h3>\n    <p>\n      The site is regularly updated and reorganized. Pages may be renamed or moved.
